موطأ مالك#81SahihThese are the words of a Successor — the generation after the Companions — not of the Prophet ﷺ.
وَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْمُجَبَّرِ، أَنَّهُ رَأَى سَالِمَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يَخْرُجُ مِنْ أَنْفِهِ الدَّمُ حَتَّى تَخْتَضِبَ أَصَابِعُهُ ثُمَّ يَفْتِلُهُ ثُمَّ يُصَلِّي وَلاَ يَتَوَضَّأُ .
Yahya related to me from Malik from Abd ar Rahman ibn al-Mujabbar that he saw Salim ibn Abdullah with blood running from his nose so that his fingers were all coloured red. Then he rubbed it and prayed without doing wudu
