سنن أبي داود#4100Hasan chainحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كَامِلٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مُهَاجِرٍ، عَنْ صَفِيَّةَ بِنْتِ شَيْبَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، رضى الله عنها أَنَّهَا ذَكَرَتْ نِسَاءَ الأَنْصَارِ فَأَثْنَتْ عَلَيْهِنَّ وَقَالَتْ لَهُنَّ مَعْرُوفًا وَقَالَتْ لَمَّا نَزَلَتْ سُورَةُ النُّورِ عَمَدْنَ إِلَى حُجُورٍ - أَوْ حُجُوزٍ شَكَّ أَبُو كَامِلٍ - فَشَقَقْنَهُنَّ فَاتَّخَذْنَهُ خُمُرًا .
Safiyyah, daughter of Shaybah, said that Aisha mentioned the women of Ansar, praised them and said good words about them. She then said:When Surat an-Nur came down, they took the curtains, tore them and made head covers (veils) of them
